Building on my 25 years of experience as Principal Flute with the

Radio Telefís Éireann Concert Orchestra and my MA in Music Therapy,

I continue to create music in additional mediums: porcelain, glaze and sculpture.

I was privileged to have begun my “clay play” in the early 1980’s with

Peter and Helena Brennan, the pioneering couple of studio pottery in Ireland.

More recently Paul Martin in The Bray Institute of Further Education was

another inspiring mentor for my Fine Art Diploma.

Working mainly in porcelain now I use organic shapes and textures to create

my pieces. Inspired by the work of Margaret O’ Rorke, I sometimes illuminate my work to further enhance the unique translucence of the material, capturing the space within with a golden glow.

My latest body of work was inspired while admiring the stucco decoration on the ceilings of old Irish houses.  I present rich displays of organic material on a plain, porcelain tile.
